In the evening, lost in conversation without deliberation
We're like windmills, never learned the lesson of this passive aggression
We have a lot of common ground now
But I'm still addicted to your know-how
You have no reason to be reasonable
I have no reason to be terrible
And though it's getting kind of comical
We're gonna get it back babe
We're gonna make it happen!
In the morning when I don't wanna wake up and you don't wanna make up
It begins to dawn on me, if we fuck it up completely, I still recall it fondly
Lost on the highway route to nowhere
But let’s enjoy it 'til we get there!
You have no reason to be reasonable
I have no reason to be terrible
And though it's getting kind of comical
We're gonna get it back babe,
We're gonna make it happen!
Ooo, they say you don't choose, you just know
Ooo, I always knew, hate to say I told you so
Sometimes I hate to love you though but I love you so
When we're older, stare into the fire, our limbs worn out and tired
I don't wanna fight you baby, we'll always stay connected, no point trying to reject it
Maybe by then we both have found out
That this is it! It's for life!
You have no reason to be reasonable
I have no reason to be terrible
And though it's getting kind of comical
We're gonna get it back babe
We're gonna make it happen!

Alvvays has always been great, but with this album they took it to the next level. Every one of these songs is lodged in my brain now, permanently (in a good way). s. moxley

This is undoubtedly my single favorite album of all time. It feels like such a perfect culmination of all the themes and ideas Fleet Foxes has been working with since 2008. It answers many of the questions found on both Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up, and represents an incredible maturation and growth in Robin Pecknold's perspective. Their other albums are certainly masterpieces, but this, in my opinion, is their magnum opus. I doubt it will be recognized as such in its time. isaiah_stuart
